Chapter 228: Chapter 228: Fighting Over Food with a Cat Every Day
Lazy Walt feigned anger, pressing a fist against the chubby cat Piggyâs head. "I give you the best food and drink every day, and you dare call me a big dummy? You little traitor!"
The chubby cat Piggy shrank back, but its words were anything but timid. "But you *are* a big dummy. That person wasnât wrong at all."
Lazy Walt asked anxiously, "Streamer, what is Piggy saying?"
"Donât worry just yet," Renee Jennings said in a gentle voice. "Let me get the full story, and then Iâll explain."
Lazy Walt nodded. "Okay, Streamer, please ask."
Renee Jennings looked at the chubby cat Piggy. "How is your owner a dummy?"
Piggy started meowing. "You have no idea! Sheâs a huge dummy! She treats someone like a bestie, but that person just treats her like an idiot!"
Renee Jenningsâs slender brows furrowed slightly, a trace of confusion in her eyes. "What do you mean? Can you explain in more detail?"
Piggy stared intently at the person on the screen. "Youâre the streamer, right? You can understand cats, so can you help a cat out and tell the big dummy not to let her bestie live here anymore?"
"Why?" Renee Jennings asked.
Piggy explained, "Because her bestie is a huge jerk! Sheâs always secretly badmouthing the big dummy and taking advantage of her!"
Renee Jennings blinked. "In what specific ways?"
"Let me tell you, when that awful bestie moved into the big dummyâs house, she said sheâd pay rent, and the big dummy agreed." Piggy sighed. "But the awful bestie has been living here for over a year and has only paid rent twice!"
Piggy then looked at Soy, who was lying on the floor, its eyes turning fierce. "And this one, Soy, is a jerk too!"
Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow, amused. "Isnât Soy your own sister? Why are you calling her a jerk?"
[Piggy: When I get ruthless, Iâll even badmouth my own sister!]
[This is killing me, what are they talking about?]
"She takes advantage of the big dummy too!" Piggy got angry just talking about it. "Soy is supposed to be the awful bestieâs cat, but sheâs always stealing my food! The big dummy bought all that for me!"
"But the big dummy doesnât mind at all. She just foolishly prepares food for Soy every day. The awful bestie doesnât have to do a thing. The cat sheâs supposed to be raising has basically become the big dummyâs cat!"
What made Piggy angriest was that Soy ate the big dummyâs food and even copied her awful owner by badmouthing the big dummy.
"Itâs one thing for Soy to eat her food, but she canât let the big dummy raise her *and* badmouth her! Is that something a cat should do?" The more Piggy spoke, the angrier it got. It leaped out of Lazy Waltâs arms, ran over to Soy, and unleashed a flurry of paws.
"Hey, hey, Piggy, what are you doing?" Seeing this, Lazy Walt quickly tried to stop it. "No fighting! Soy was sleeping peacefully. Why are you attacking her?"
Renee Jennings explained softly, "Piggy is letting out your anger for you."
"Huh?" Lazy Walt looked astonished. "Whatâs going on?"
Renee Jennings: "The reason itâs been fighting with Soy these past few days is probably because Soy has been badmouthing you."
Lazy Waltâs eyes widened, her tone filled with disbelief. "Soy has been badmouthing me? Why would she badmouth me?"
[This time I really canât guess whatâs going on.]
[Me neither, I canât figure it out at all.]
"One moment," Renee Jennings said. "Let me find out more."
Piggy and Soy fought fiercely. It was clear Piggy was not holding back. Fur torn from the two cats during the brawl drifted through the air.
Lazy Walt hurried over to pick Piggy up, saying helplessly, "The streamer is still talking to you, why did you run off?"
Piggy was still baring its fangs and claws at Soy, trying to curse as foully as possible: "You ungrateful stinky cat, I really donât want to admit youâre my sister..."
"Piggy," Renee Jennings called out softly. "How exactly did Soy badmouth your owner?"
Piggy meowed indignantly, "She said some really awful things, all stuff she learned from her terrible owner! She said the big dummy is a bitch, a drama queen, a green tea bitch..."
Renee Jennings frowned, asking in confusion, "Why would her owner say things like that about your owner?"
Lazy Waltâs eyes flew wide in shock. "Streamer, are you saying Soyâs owner is badmouthing me?"
Renee Jenningsâs expression was grave. "Thatâs what Piggy is saying."
[Isnât Soyâs owner Kingâs bestie???]
[The bestie is badmouthing King?]
"Why?" Lazy Walt looked at Renee Jennings, then at Piggy. "Piggy, hurry up and tell me, why?"
Piggy huffed. "You big dummy! What am I going to do with you if youâre this dumb? Youâre going to worry this cat to death!"
Renee Jennings pursed her lips, then began, "King, you and your bestie live together. How do you two handle the rent?"
"Well, this is an apartment my parents bought for me. Iâm not married, so Iâve always lived alone," Lazy Walt explained. "Then my bestie said her landlord was taking back the apartment and she couldnât find a suitable place on short notice, so she asked to stay with me and offered to pay rent."
"I figured it would be nice to have some company, and Piggy would have someone around while Iâm at work during the day, so I agreed."
Renee Jennings raised an eyebrow slightly. "So how long did your bestie pay rent for?"
Lazy Walt said helplessly, "She paid for two months. After that, she said she had some cash flow issues and would owe me for now, promising to pay me back all at once later. Come to think of it, sheâs owed me for over a year now."
[Damn, sheâs probably never going to see that money.]
[Your bestie is playing you.]
Renee Jennings followed up with another question, "So, do you also buy the cat food and litter that Soy uses?"
"Yeah." Lazy Walt nodded. "My bestie asked me to buy it all together, and sheâd transfer me the money. But just like the rent, she only paid me back for two months before saying sheâd pay me back all at once later."
[...I canât even.]
[Your bestie has serious character flaws.]
Renee Jennings pursed her lips, momentarily at a loss for words. After a moment, she said, "So youâve just been shouldering all of this? Youâve never brought it up with your bestie?"
"I sometimes think about it when Iâm buying cat food." A troubled look appeared on Lazy Waltâs face. "But I feel too awkward to bring it up with her."
[ARGH, you canât be such a doormat!]
[King, are you still looking for besties?]
"King." Renee Jennings frowned at her. "Do you know what your bestie calls you behind your back?"
Lazy Walt also frowned, shaking her head. "I donât know..."
Renee Jennings: "She calls you a bitch, a drama queen, a green tea, things like that."
Lazy Waltâs expression turned ugly. "Why would she say that about me? I feel like Iâve been really good to her. Why does she hate me?"
"Some people are just like that," Renee Jennings said faintly.
[King, get your money back and make your bestie move out!]
[How can you even call someone like that a bestie?]
"How about I try communicating with Soy?" Renee Jennings suggested.
Lazy Walt thought that was a good idea and called out, "Soy, come here for a second."
Soy ignored her.
Seeing this, Piggy screeched angrily, "Soy, get your butt over here, or Iâll beat the life out of you!"
