Chapter 229: Chapter 229: Best Friend Abandons Her for a Man
Soy contentedly licked its paws, completely ignoring Piggyâs words.
Seeing this, Piggy bristled with rage and rushed toward the screen to complain to Renee Jennings. "Look, look! This is what it does! It ignores you unless itâs mealtime. Tell me, how is another cat supposed to not swat it for that?"
Piggy finished speaking and furiously pounced on Soy, slapping a paw on its head.
[LOLOLOL theyâre fighting again]
[Looks like Piggy really loves its owner. Even if its own sister bullies its owner, it wonât hold back when it fights.]
"Seriously, whyâd you hit me again?" Soy was also angry and quickly started scuffling with Piggy.
Lazy Walt watched the scene, sighed, and got up to separate the two cats again.
Dangling a cat from each hand, she said with some exhaustion, "No fighting."
Piggy snorted. "Did I want to fight? That stinky Soy started it!"
Lazy Walt let go of Piggy and held Soy up to the camera. "Streamer, please ask it for me."
"Okay," Renee Jennings agreed. Looking at Soyâs disdainful feline face, she raised an eyebrow. "Soy, are you Piggyâs sister?"
Standing by Lazy Waltâs feet, Piggy meowed unhappily. "It is not this catâs sister! This cat has no such sister!"
Soy turned its head to glare at it, its pupils wide. "Youâd disown your own sister for a human? Piggy, youâre not worthy of being a cat!"
"Hmph." Piggyâs round eyes were filled with contempt. "This human is so good to this cat. Is there a problem with this cat disowning a bad cat like you for her sake?"
"Iâm not a bad cat!" Soy retorted, puffing its cheeks angrily.
Piggy was furious. "You insulted this catâs owner, so you *are* a bad cat!"
"Your owner is a bad woman!" Soy immediately shot back. "Your owner stole my ownerâs boyfriend! You bitch!"
[I canât understand what theyâre saying, but I have a feeling theyâre trading some pretty nasty insults]
[LMAO, when they canât fight, they start arguing]
Hearing this, a flash of surprise crossed Renee Jenningsâ eyes. She quickly asked, "Soy, is what youâre saying true?"
Soy looked at Renee Jennings on the screen, leaped onto the table, and its furry face filled the camera. "Of course itâs true! My owner was heartbroken over this."
Renee Jennings knitted her slender brows, her feelings growing complicated. She wanted to ask something else, but then she heard Piggy start yelling unhappily.
"Itâs not true!" Piggy said. "The big dummy didnât steal Soyâs ownerâs boyfriend!"
Renee Jennings was getting a little confused. "Then why would Soy say that?"
Piggy: "Soy is talking nonsense! Streamer, tell the big dummy to put Soy down. This cat is going to teach it a lesson today!"
Soy: "Youâre the one talking nonsense!"
Lazy Walt was completely stunned, her face a mask of confusion and bewilderment. "What on earth are you two talking about?"
"Do you want to know?" Renee Jennings hesitated. "It might trigger some unfriendly comments about you."
Lazy Waltâs expression turned serious. "I want to know. Itâs okay, Streamer. Just tell me straight."
Seeing this, Renee Jennings said slowly, "Soy says youâre a bad woman because you stole its ownerâs boyfriend. But Piggy says Soy is talking nonsense. All in all, it sounds very complicated."
[Huh? Lazy Walt stole her bestieâs boyfriend? For real?]
[Ahhhh, a plot twist!]
[King doesnât seem like the type of person whoâd do something like that...]
"What?" Lazy Walt was also baffled. "How did I suddenly get saddled with such a huge accusation?"
She saw viewers in the comments questioning her and hurriedly said, "Everyone, I swear, I really didnât steal my best friendâs boyfriend. Iâm not trying to brag, but Iâve never been short on guys pursuing me!"
"Besides, my best friend is single. She doesnât even have a boyfriend right now."
[From what I can see, youâre so pretty without makeup, you must have a lot of suitors.]
[But animals donât lie. Arenât you all curious why Soy would say that?]
Lazy Walt didnât know what was going on either and furrowed her brow in thought.
Hearing her say that, Renee Jennings asked Soy again, "Isnât your owner single?"
"It was her *previous* boyfriend!" Soy explained. "My ownerâs breakup was all that bitchy owner of Piggyâs fault!"
Renee Jennings blinked and said to Lazy Walt, "Soy says it was a previous boyfriend, and that their breakup was your fault."
"Huh?" Lazy Walt found this unbelievable. "How is that possible? Iâve only met my best friendâs ex-boyfriend once. I donât even have his WeChat."
"Soy, did you hear that?" Renee Jennings said gently. "Piggyâs owner has only met your ownerâs boyfriend once. How could she possibly have stolen him?"
Soy blinked its round eyes, tilting its head with an innocent look. "But my owner clearly said her boyfriend likes Piggyâs owner!"
Renee Jennings pondered for a few seconds, then said tentatively, "Soy, your owner and her boyfriend broke up because her boyfriend liked Piggyâs owner. So, she feels like Piggyâs owner stole her boyfriend away from her, is that right?"
"Yes!" Soy nodded its head vigorously.
Piggy shrieked with anger, "Stinky Soy, you stinky cat! Youâve been corrupted by your owner! She spouts nonsense, and you just parrot it!"
After Renee Jenningsâ explanation, the viewers in the live stream also figured out what was going on.
[I almost misunderstood King! This is so rough for her.]
[Kingâs bestie has some messed up values. In a situation like this, she should be blaming her boyfriend, right? But instead, sheâs secretly cursing out King every day???]
[King, youâre a King, not a doormat! Listen to me, donât be a coward, tear her apart!]
[Thatâs not a bestie, thatâs a frenemy.]
Lazy Walt thought carefully for a moment, then exclaimed, "I remember now! She organized a get-together right after she moved in near me, and thatâs when I met her boyfriend."
"Not long after that, she said they broke up. Oh, right! She hasnât paid any rent ever since the breakup."
Renee Jennings said lightly, "Sheâs blaming you for everything. Not paying rent is probably intentionalâa way to get revenge."
"Revenge on me?" Lazy Walt was furious. "Iâm speechless!"
She saw the other woman as her best friend, but her best friend had abandoned her for a man.
Renee Jennings asked casually, "How long have you two known each other?"
Lazy Waltâs eyes reddened, and her voice was a little choked up. "We were dorm mates in college. All told, weâve known each other for over six years."
"In all those years, you never noticed anything off about her attitude toward you?" Renee Jennings felt her friend must have held a grudge against her for a long time.
Lazy Walt shook her head blankly. "I donât know."
Renee Jennings pressed her lips together and said softly, "Think about it carefully."
Lazy Walt felt her mind go completely blank, her brows knitted tightly. "I... My mind is such a mess right now."
Renee Jennings nodded in understanding. "Then take a moment to calm down."
