Chapter 350: Chapter 350: You Get Out! Get Out
The more Nana thought about it, the more unsettled she became.
She quickly called Miles. The phone rang and rang until it automatically disconnected.
Nanaās brows furrowed as she called again, but the result was the sameāno answer.
"What happened?" Connor asked anxiously.
Nana shook her head in anguish. "He didnāt pick up."
"He just sent divorce papers without saying anything?" Connor looked displeased. āHe was still counting on Miles to raise his son for him, how could they get a divorce?ā
Nanaās face was ghostly pale, her voice choked with tears. "He just sent me a text telling me to go to my parentsā house tomorrow."
"Whatās that supposed to mean?" Connor looked puzzled.
"I donāt know." Nanaās heart was racing. "Is he going to tell my parents about us? Theyāre getting old, and their health isnāt great. They definitely couldnāt handle a shock like this."
"I donāt think Miles actually wants to divorce you," Connor mused.
Nana looked at him, her brow furrowed. "Then why would he send me divorce papers?"
"To scare you," Connor analyzed. "If he really wanted to divorce you, why wouldnāt he give you the papers in person? And why text you to go to your parentsā place tomorrow?"
He sneered disdainfully. "Heās trying to use your parents to control you. Donāt panic."
āIs that really it?ā Nana was still deeply unsettled.
"It has to be," Connor said with conviction. "You just wait and see tomorrow."
Nana couldnāt sleep a wink all night, her mind consumed by the matter.
āWhen did Miles find out about her and Connor?ā
On Monday, Nana took the day off. Connor drove her and dropped her off near her parentsā house.
"Babe, Iām heading to work now. Donāt panic."
"Okay, I know," Nana replied, her mind elsewhere. After watching the car drive off into the distance, she pulled out her phone and called Miles again.
This time, to her surprise, he answered almost immediately.
"Mileā"
The man cut her off. "Iām already at your parentsā place."
"Miles, have you found something out?" Nana asked, her voice trembling.
Miles let out an unreadable laugh. "Hurry up and get here. Your parents are waiting for you."
Nana was speechless. It felt like a wad of water-soaked cotton was stuffed in her chest, a heavy weight pressing down on her heart.
The front door was unlocked, seemingly left open for her.
"Nanaās home," Mrs. Lowe said.
Mr. Loweās expression was severe as he looked at her. "Miles says he wants a divorce, and that youāre the problem. So why donāt you tell us what the problem is?"
Hearing this, Nana suddenly breathed a sigh of relief. āThank goodness, Miles hasnāt told them yet.ā
āLooks like Connor was right after all.ā
"Mom, Dad, Miles is just joking with you," Nana said with a laugh. "Weāre doing just fine. Weāre not getting a divorce."
Milesās eyes darkened, and a mocking smile touched his lips. "Hannah Lowe, are you sure about that?"
"Miles, stop fooling around," Hannah Lowe said, affecting a look of exasperation. "If thereās a problem, we can just discuss it in private. Thereās no need to come to my parentsā house."
"Hannah Lowe, I am serious about the divorce." Miles tapped his phone a few times and handed it to Mr. Lowe. "Please, take a look at this."
Seeing this, a fresh wave of anxiety washed over Hannah Lowe. She couldnāt help but frown and ask, "Wh-what are you showing my dad?"
Miles glanced at her, a sardonic smile playing on his lips.
Mr. Lowe took the phone and played the video.
In the video, Hannah Lowe was standing at a doorway, wearing an apron.
A manās voice was heard. "What is your relationship with Mr. Kent?"
Hannah Lowe answered to the camera, "Iām his wife."
At these words, the color drained from Hannah Loweās face. Her eyes were fixed on Miles in a deathly stare.
It suddenly dawned on her. The build of the man who delivered the documents yesterday... it was just like Milesās...
"It was you?" Hannah Loweās voice was frantic. "That was you yesterday, wasnāt it?"
Miles ignored her.
Mr. Loweās hand, still holding the phone, began to tremble. "This... This..."
"Mr. Kent?" Mrs. Lowe murmured, looking at her daughter with eyes full of disappointment. "Is that Quentin Kent?"
"Mom, Dad, please listen to me explain..." Hannah Lowe pleaded, her eyes red with anxiety.
"Explain what?" Mr. Loweās face was flushed with anger. He clutched at his chest and roared, "You shameless creature! I have no daughter like you!"
Mrs. Loweās eyes filled with tears of bitter disappointment. "How could you do this? How can you face Miles? How are your father and I supposed to face anyone?"
"I really didnāt mean to..." Hannah Lowe tried to explain.
"Shameless!" Mr. Lowe bellowed, pointing a furious finger at her.
Miles spoke calmly. "As youāve both seen, for years, Hannah Lowe has insisted we live apart. It turns out it was so she could live with a man named Kent, even claiming to be his wife."
Hannah Lowe opened her mouth but couldnāt say a word in her defense. Because what Miles said was the truth.
"In that case, letās get a divorce," Miles said, his tone perfectly level. "I demand that Hannah Lowe return the dowry and leave the marriage with nothing."
Milesās demands werenāt unreasonable, but Hannah Lowe refused to agree to the divorce.
"If you donāt want a divorce, then why would you betray Miles?" Mr. Lowe demanded, his voice a mixture of fury and shame.
In all his years, he had never been so thoroughly humiliated.
"I was forced into it," Hannah Lowe choked out. "I didnāt have a choice."
"You had no choice?" Mr. Lowe laughed, a harsh, angry sound. "Did someone hold a gun to your head and force you to cheat?"
Hannah Lowe was left speechless.
Miles felt a wave of exhaustion. His face was devoid of expression as he said, "Sir, Maāam, Iāll be going now. Iāve already sent the divorce papers to Hannah Lowe."
After Miles left, Mr. Lowe could no longer contain his rage. He flipped the coffee table over. "Youāve brought shame to the entire Lowe family! From this day forward, I have no daughter! Get out! GET OUT!"

That afternoon, Renee Jennings went to Danielle Archerās housekeeping agency. With a lawyer present as a witness, she signed an investment agreement.
Danielle Archer also gave her an update on the company. "Oh, by the way, thereās a woman looking for work. I spoke with her briefly, and she seems like a good person. Do you want to meet her?"
"Sure," Renee Jennings nodded. She still hadnāt found a housekeeper, and she was getting exhausted doing all the cleaning herself.
The woman Danielle Archer mentioned was named Glenn Zane. She was forty-six years old, with a dark complexion and her hair tied back in a low ponytail. She had come to Zenvia with some people from her hometown to find work, but sheād been scammed. Later, a kind-hearted person recommended she apply for a housekeeping job.
āShe looked honest enough, but who knew if appearances were deceiving.ā
Glenn Zane sat across from Renee Jennings, her hands clasped together nervously in her lap. She kept her eyes downcast, not daring to meet Reneeās gaze.
Perhaps Reneeās silence stretched on a bit too long, because Glenn Zane looked up uneasily, her gaze meeting Reneeās clear, sharp eyes. A flustered, bashful smile immediately appeared on her face.
"M-Miss, is there... is there anything else youād like to ask me?"
Renee asked softly, "What are your salary expectations?"
