Chapter 444: Chapter 444: I Might As Well Be Dead
Yuri Sullivan entered the hotel room and found everything about it unsettling.
The lighting in the room was dim. Besides the bed, there were two old-fashioned wooden stools.
Yuri Sullivan frowned, pulled out a few tissues to wipe down a stool, and then sat down apprehensively.
About a minute later, the doorbell rang.
Yuri Sullivan got up to open the door.
Dora Archer, who was standing outside, held out her hands and made a couple of strange gestures before suddenly rushing into the room.
"...What are you doing?" Yuri Sullivan asked.
"Oh, itâs nothing." Dora Archer said with a smile, waving her hand dismissively as she shut the door.
Yuri Sullivan noticed that she closed the door very gently, and it was obvious it hadnât latched properly.
He pretended not to notice, turned back to the stool, and sat down, lowering his gaze to scroll through his social media feed.
When he looked up again, Dora Archer was already taking off her clothes.
The sight made Yuri Sullivan jump to his feet in alarm. "You... What are you doing?"
"Yuri," Dora Archer said, tossing her pants on the floor and throwing her arms around him. "Weâre already boyfriend and girlfriend."
Yuri Sullivan hurriedly pushed her away. "Flora, even though youâre my girlfriend, I donât think the time is right. Please, put your clothes back on."
"Yuri, youâre so cute." Dora Archer laughed, walking back over to him and taking his hand. "Yuri, have you ever, in your entire life, unhooked a womanâs bra?"
Yuri Sullivan snatched his hand away as if it were a hot potato. "Donât act like this," he said, his face stern. "I donât want this to happen between us."
"Oh, come on~" Dora Archer purred, her voice dripping with playful reproach. "Yuri, stop playing the prude. A hot-blooded young man like you? How could you not want it?"
As she spoke, she unhooked her bra from behind and threw it at Yuri Sullivanâs head.
Yuri Sullivan recoiled in shock, utterly disgusted. "Youâve gone too far!"
Without the slightest blush, Dora Archer pressed herself against Yuri Sullivan and started tugging at his pants.
"Oh, Yuri, youâre so innocent. Youâve just never experienced it before. Once you get a taste, youâll be hooked~"
Yuri Sullivan was seething, clutching the waistband of his pants for dear life. "AHHH, donât touch me! Get away from me!"
âThis is terrifying! Absolutely terrifying!â
He prayed desperately, âPlease let Renee and the others get here soon and save me from this nightmare.â
"Yuri, trust me, youâll love it!" Dora Archer said, still tugging relentlessly at his pants, unable to understand why he was being so prudish.
It was the first time sheâd ever run into this problem; all the other men had been even more eager than she was.
"Donât touch me! Get lost!" Yuri Sullivan yelled, on the verge of tears from anger and frustration.
â*Sob...* Renee, why arenât you guys here yet...â
At that very moment, Renee Jenningsâs group of three, along with the just-arrived Sawyer and Zachary Conway, were about to take the elevator upstairs.
Dora Archerâs husband, Paul Lowe, had gone upstairs two minutes prior. The elevator he took had stopped on the seventh floorâprecisely the floor Yuri Sullivan was on.
DINGâ
The elevator arrived on the seventh floor.
Renee stepped out of the car, glanced at the room directory on the wall, and began walking softly to the left.
Reaching the corner, she peeked around and saw Paul Lowe pressed against the door of Room 717, his butt sticking out as he eavesdropped.
She took out her phone and started recording.
Paul Lowe waited at the door for about five minutes. Seeing that Dora Archer still hadnât managed to get Yuri Sullivanâs pants off, he gritted his teeth and burst in.
"Honey? What are you two doing?" he demanded angrily, holding his phone up as if recording.
"Help!" Dora Archerâs expression changed in an instant. Putting on a look of utter grievance, she choked out, "Help me! Yuri Sullivan is trying to force me to sleep with him!"
Yuri Sullivan was stunned, staring at her in disbelief. "How can you lie so brazenly? You were the one..."
"*Sob, sob, sob...* He stripped my clothes off," Dora Archer wailed, collapsing to the floor and covering her face as she cried.
Paul Lowe shoved his phone in Yuri Sullivanâs face. "You bastard! You dare try to rape my wife! Iâm calling the police! Youâre going to pay for this!"
Dora Archerâs crying was a truly miserable sight. "*Sob, sob...* I kept telling him not to touch me, but he wouldnât listen... I just want to die! I donât want to live anymore!"
"How can you slander me like this?" Yuri Sullivan was livid. "You took your own clothes off! It had nothing to do with me!"
"Shut up! Iâm calling the police right now!" Paul Lowe postured as if he were about to make a call. "Letâs see what the police have to say about whether this âhas anything to do with youâ!"
"Thatâs right!" Dora Archer nodded emphatically. "Iâm not crazy, why would I strip my own clothes off? Honey, hurry up and call the police! Clear my name!"
"Fine!" Paul Lowe said, pointing at Yuri Sullivan with an arrogant swagger. "Rapist. Get ready for prison!"
Having said that, he waited, expecting Yuri Sullivan to stop him from calling the police.
But after stalling for a while, he saw no reaction from Yuri at all, and his brow furrowed.
Seeing this, Dora Archer immediately resumed her fake crying and urged him on. "Honey, call the police! Iâd be better off dead!"
"Honey, donât do anything foolish. The police will make sure you get justice!" Paul Lowe said, though his eyes remained fixed on Yuri Sullivan.
Yuri Sullivanâs gaze shifted between the two scammers. "Fine by me," he said calmly. "I want the police to clear my name, too."
When Paul Lowe heard this, his heart skipped a beat. He glanced at Dora Archer, his eyes asking, âWhatâs with this guy? Why isnât he taking the bait?â
Dora Archer shook her head, indicating she didnât know either.
Paul Loweâs eyes darted as he decided to switch to another plan. "Fine, Iâm calling the police right now!"
He found a number in his contacts and dialed. "Hello, 911? I want to report a crime. A man is raping my wife. Weâre at..."
After finishing the call, Paul Lowe said smugly, "Iâve called the police. Just you wait."
Then he turned to Dora Archer. "Honey, put your clothes on."
In reality, he had only pretended to call the police. The people on their way were two of his goons, and he certainly wasnât going to let them see his wifeâs body.
As Dora Archer was getting dressed, the door was pushed open.
Zachary Conway walked in first and called out, "Who is Yuri Sullivan?"
"Iâm Yuri Sullivan." Yuri immediately raised his hand, his eyes instantly brightening.
âThank god, my saviors are here!â
Paul Lowe and Dora Archer looked at each other in stunned confusion as the group of people suddenly entered the room.
"Who are you people?" Paul Lowe asked warily.
Zachary Conway and Sawyer presented their credentials. "Police. Yuri Sullivan reported being harassed by a pervert trying to force him into a sexual act."
"What?" Dora Archer cried out in astonishment. "When did you call the police? How did I not know?"
Yuri Sullivan couldnât be bothered to explain.
Paul Lowe snapped out of it and quickly retorted, "Officer, heâs lying! He was the one trying to force himself on my wife! Look, her clothes arenât even on properly! When I burst in to save her, she was crying and threatening to jump out the window."
