Chapter 574: Chapter 574: You Should Contact Genevieve Hayes to Pick You Up
"Yvonne Morgan is my biological daughter, so isnāt Renee Jennings?" Zachary Morgan laughed, his fury boiling over. "Youāre the one who said that even though Renee Jennings has Morgan blood, some children just arenāt fated to be with their parents. Do you remember that?"
Zoe Morgan went silent on the other end of the line.
Zachary Morgan was about to explode. "By your logic, so what if Yvonne Morgan is my biological daughter? Weāre not fated to be, and we have no connection!"
"Brother!" Zoe Morgan burst into tears, her voice filled with pleading. "Please donāt say that. If Yvonne knew, sheād be heartbroken."
"Heartbroken? So what?" Zachary Morgan roared. "What does her being heartbroken have to do with me? Werenāt you going to kill yourself with her? Go on, then!"
Zoe Morgan gripped her phone, screaming as she broke down. "Brother, how can you be so cruel? Iām your sister, and Yvonne is your daughter! How can you be so heartless and show not a shred of affection?"
"Affection? Heartless?" Zachary Morgan felt as though she had thrown his once warm and peaceful life into chaos, the rage in his chest burning hotter. "When you conspired with Genevieve Hayes to set me up, did you ever stop to think that Iām your brother?"
Zoe Morgan explained, "Itās precisely *because* youāre my brother that I was willing to help."
To Zachary Morgan, her words were utterly laughable. "And did you ever consider that this would destroy the home Iāve built with your sister-in-law?"
Once again, Zoe Morgan was left speechless.
Back when sheād drugged Zachary Morgan, she had already thought it all through.
If Genevieve Hayes really had gotten pregnant and had the child, she would have done everything in her power to make Zachary Morgan and Aria Sinclair divorce.
But what she hadnāt expected was for Genevieve Hayes to leave her for good right after giving birth.
Zachary Morgan sneered. "Since you went to such great lengths and used such filthy methods to get Yvonne Morgan, then itās only fitting that you take her with you to her death."
"Wh-what are you saying?" Zoe Morganās voice trembled, full of disbelief. "How could you say something like that?"
Zachary Morgan said cruelly, "If youāre going to die, then just do it. You donāt need to make a special trip to inform me. You should contact Genevieve Hayes to come pick you up."
With that, he hung up the phone.
Zoe Morgan hadnāt expected him to be so utterly ruthless. Her face twitched and her body trembled with rage.
Zachary Morgan tossed his phone onto the bed, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.
Next, he had to face Aria Sinclair.
Ten minutes later, Zachary Morgan changed into a dress shirt and slacks, walked out of the presidential suite, and replied to Aria Sinclairās message as he went.
It had just rained heavily. The asphalt was slick and wet, and the road was choked with traffic, a cacophony of roaring engines and blaring horns.
The moment Zachary Morgan entered the Morgan residence, a maid went upstairs to inform Aria Sinclair. "Maāam, the master is back."
Aria Sinclair, sitting at her vanity applying a face mask, answered calmly, "Alright."
When Zachary Morgan reached the main hall, he saw Yvonne Morgan kneeling in the living room.
She had been sitting at first, but upon hearing the maid announce Zachary Morganās return, she straightened up into a proper kneeling position.
Zachary Morgan shot her a cold glance and prepared to head upstairs.
"Dad." Yvonne Morgan stopped him, her voice thick with unshed tears and a sense of grievance. "Iāve been looking for you for the past two days, but I couldnāt find you. I was so scared."
"Is that so?" Zachary Morgan stared blankly at her pitiful display, suddenly thinking how much her face resembled Genevieve Hayes.
"Mhm!" Yvonne Morgan nodded emphatically, choking back a sob. "I was so focused on trying to reach you that I forgot to check on Mom, so sheās punishing me by making me kneel."
Zachary Morgan suddenly found the daughter he had raised for twenty-four years to be rather nauseating.
He dropped the words coldly, "Why are you here? Isnāt Zoe Morgan supposed to be taking you to your death?"
Hearing this, Yvonne Morganās face was a picture of shock. "Dad, wh-why would you say something like that?"
Zachary Morgan ignored her, turning and taking the stairs two at a time.
On the second floor, he stood before the familiar door, his fingers closing around the cold handle. A sudden wave of hesitation and apprehension washed over him.
āHe didnāt know how to face Aria Sinclair.ā
āHe was afraid he would break her heart, but even more afraid she would lose all hope in him.ā
Just then, Vincent Morgan came down from the third floor, his tone calm and flat. "Why arenāt you going in?"
Zachary Morgan turned, caught off guard by his sonās sharp gaze. His lips moved. "Vincent."
"Go on in," Vincent Morgan said quietly.
"Alright." Zachary Morgan nodded, took a deep breath, and pushed down the handle.
He opened the door and went inside, finding Aria Sinclair sitting at her vanity, running a facial toning device over her skin.
"Rue." Zachary Morgan walked to her side and reached out, his tone clearly trying to curry favor. "Let me do that for you."
Aria Sinclair stared at the man in the mirror and said unhurriedly, "I think what you should be doing right now is kneeling."
Zachary Morganās eyelashes fluttered. His knees buckled, and he dropped to the floor with a THUD. "Rue, you... you know?"
"Did you think I wouldnāt find out?" Aria Sinclair continued to methodically glide the device over the skin at the corner of her eye.
"No, itās not like that." Zachary Morgan didnāt know how sheād found out, but he knew that a deed done always leaves a trace. "Rue, I only just learned about this myself. Iām a victim here, too."
"Then why didnāt you tell me the moment you found out?" Aria Sinclairās voice turned cold. "When I was unconscious in the hospital, where were you?"
At her words, a look of concern immediately spread across Zachary Morganās face. "You were unconscious? Are you feeling better now?"
"Donāt worry," Aria Sinclair said with a mocking smile. "Iām not dead yet."
"Rue, I know you must be devastated by this." Zachary Morganās voice was filled with helplessness. "Do you think Iām not? I just didnāt know how to face you, thatās why I put off telling you."
"Were you afraid to face me, or were you āthinkingā?" Aria Sinclair put down the facial device and turned to stare at him. "I think you were āthinkingā about whether you should conspire with your sister and your biological daughter to hide this from me and play me for a fool!"
"No," Zachary Morgan explained hastily. "I wanted Zoe Morgan to tell you herself. This is all her fault, and she should be the one to bear the consequences."
Yvonne Morgan scrambled up from the floor, crept to the bedroom door, and pressed her ear against it, listening to the commotion inside.
"If thatās the case, then why did you give her a week?" Disgust filled Aria Sinclairās eyes. "Was that to give *her* time to prepare, or to give *yourself* time to back out?"
"Rue, what can I do to make you believe me?" Zachary Morganās face was etched with anguish.
Aria Sinclair lifted her chin, her posture cold and proud. "Tell me, what do you plan to do about your sister and your biological daughter?"
"I..." Zachary Morganās brow furrowed deeply. He said in a heavy voice, "Rue, whatever you want, Iāll do it. Iāll listen to you."
"What are you doing here?" a cold male voice suddenly asked from behind her.
Yvonne Morgan jumped, startled. She turned around, a flicker of panic in her eyes, and stammered, "Brother, I... I was worried Dad and Mom were fighting."
