After leaving Li Jinghui’s office, Luo Ziling called Ling Ruonan.

Ling Ruonan was free at the moment, so she answered his call.

Over the phone, Ling Ruonan told Luo Ziling that since Wang Zhengqiang was willing to speak and Ling Mingrui had agreed to make a statement, the chances of success were pretty high.

After leaving the principal’s office, Luo Ziling didn’t attend class but went to the still-under-renovation Northern Pharmaceuticals building to find Dong Xiaowan.

Wang Hanying, He Chennning, and Cheng Jiayan followed Luo Liansheng to process medicinal materials, so only Dong Xiaowan and another Dragon Rise team member were there.

Ling Haijun was naturally there as well. Ever since Luo Ziling assigned him the responsibility for the renovation affairs of Northern Pharmaceuticals, he showed up every day to supervise the renovation without slacking off.

Ling Haining had to work, but during her free time, she came here to join training sessions and participate in activities with others.

Ling Haiyang and Ling Haihang were also required to come here, but they weren’t seen today.

Upon arriving at the Northern Pharmaceuticals building, Ling Haijun eagerly ran over to report on the situation he was responsible for.

After listening attentively for a while, Luo Ziling asked about the others.

Ling Haijun immediately informed Luo Ziling that Ling Haihang and Ling Haiyang had slipped away after briefly appearing today.

“They saw most people had left for their tasks and felt idle staying here, so they left,” Ling Haijun honestly reported to Luo Ziling and said regretfully, “I told them to stay and help, but they wouldn’t listen, saying they were busy. They left at ten o’clock this morning and haven’t come back since.”

“What about yesterday and the day before?”

“They were here the day before, but they left early yesterday afternoon,” Ling Haijun candidly replied.

“Call them and have them appear here within twenty minutes.” After simply instructing Ling Haijun, Luo Ziling went to find Dong Xiaowan.

Dong Xiaowan wasn’t needed by Luo Liansheng to help, so she was feeling quite down.

Seeing Luo Ziling arrive, she also looked a bit grumpy.

“What’s the matter? Every time you see me, you look like I’m owing you a fortune.”

Upon hearing Luo Ziling’s question, Dong Xiaowan huffed and said, “Why do those three have tasks while I’m stuck here cleaning up?”

Luo Ziling replied irritably, “It’s not your punishment period yet, so you have to continue until it ends.”

Dong Xiaowan felt even more frustrated after hearing this, but dared not retaliate, fearing another punishment.

“Contact your grandpa and have him reach out to the other old guys. Tell them I’m inviting them to dinner tonight.”

“Really?” Dong Xiaowan was surprised but soon expressed her dissatisfaction, “They came to Yanjing, and you didn’t show much concern. They’re upset and considering heading home.”

“Hurry up and contact them. Just say there’s good news to share,” Luo Ziling disregarded Dong Xiaowan’s complaints and pompously said, “Technically speaking, they are my disciples, and should serve me diligently. They came to Yanjing, yet I didn’t give them tasks, and they are displeased? How about asking them to join you in cleaning?”

“You really dare to think that!” Dong Xiaowan exclaimed, wide-eyed.

“Once a teacher, always a teacher,” Luo Ziling initially wanted to say “always a father,” but felt it inappropriate for the old folks to call him “father” given his young age, so he changed his wording.

After pondering, Dong Xiaowan complied and went to make the call.

Luo Ziling informed Dong Xiaowan of the dinner location for tonight and asked her to relay the message to the old men.

Dong Xiaowan immediately called her grandfather, Dong Qichang.

Upon hearing Dong Xiaowan mention that Luo Ziling was inviting them to dinner tonight, Dong Qichang was somewhat surprised but did not refuse and said he would find a way to notify the others.

About fifteen minutes later, Dong Qichang called back to Dong Xiaowan, saying he had informed the other old men and they all agreed to attend Luo Ziling’s dinner invitation.

“Alright, continue cleaning up. You’re joining us tonight; helping serve tea would be perfect.” Luo Ziling spoke, disregarding Dong Xiaowan’s reaction, then went to find Ling Haijun again.

Once again disrespected by Luo Ziling, Dong Xiaowan jumped in frustration but didn’t dare curse him, fearing a repeat of last time when Luo Ziling backtracked.

Half an hour had passed since Luo Ziling left Dong Xiaowan to find Ling Haijun.

But what annoyed him was that Ling Haiyang and Ling Haihang still hadn’t returned.

Seeing an irrepressible smile on Ling Haijun’s face, Luo Ziling knew that there were disputes, and at least discord, among these cousins.

“What, my orders go in one ear and out the other?” Luo Ziling asked, displeased, as he approached Ling Haijun, who welcomed him with a smile, “Are they unwilling to return?”

“They’re on the way back, should be arriving soon.” Ling Haijun forced himself to look serious, “They might have gone quite far, unable to return right away.”

Luo Ziling called over the remaining Dragon Rise team member and instructed, “When Ling Haiyang and Ling Haihang return, take them on a five-kilometer cross-country run.”

Running around the main building of Northern Pharmaceuticals covers about 400 meters; five kilometers would be roughly twelve laps.

Usually, their training involves running around the building, although the distance varies daily.

About fifteen minutes later, making it around forty-five minutes since Luo Ziling instructed Ling Haijun to call, Ling Haihang and Ling Haiyang finally drove back to Northern Pharmaceuticals.

Seeing Luo Ziling and a smug-looking Ling Haijun waiting for them, both complained incessantly.

“I don’t want to hear your excuses. I just know you disobeyed and went out on your own instead of staying here.” Luo Ziling didn’t scold Ling Haiyang and Ling Haihang but pointed to the Dragon Rise team member, “Five kilometers run, follow him.”

Then instructed Ling Haijun, “You’ll supervise. If they slack off or fail to complete the task, double the punishment.”

“How do I double the punishment?” Ling Haijun quietly asked.

“If they slack off or can’t complete it, then it’s ten kilometers. If they still can’t, continue doubling.”

“Okay, I’ll definitely supervise them well.” Ling Haijun straightened his posture and agreed, and smugly glanced at the downcast Ling Haiyang and Ling Haihang.

Judging from Ling Haiyang and Ling Haihang’s attire, Ling Haijun knew they probably went somewhere to have fun. Forced to supervise the renovation here, Ling Haijun felt aggrieved and certainly wouldn’t miss this chance for revenge.

Luo Ziling also realized this, so he left reassured.
