Lynch suddenly remembered that Avery had mentioned a similar topic to him before. It seemed that what she referred to at the time was related to the Blood Moon Day.

Lynch was puzzled.

If that were true, then the Black Tower Alliance wouldn’t seem to have much of a chance to win. After all, most of the human resource lands in the Blood Moon Land are currently controlled by the White Witch Council, accumulating countless apprentices.

As for the Black Tower Alliance, they can barely recruit apprentices throughout the year; otherwise, they wouldn’t often raid the White Witch Domain to steal apprentices.

Somda explained, “The Blood Moon War has one rule: all apprentices participating in the Blood Moon Day can freely choose their camp. If you’re a Black Wizard but yearn for Order, you can join the Order Camp. If you’re a White Wizard but crave Chaos, you can join the Chaos Camp.”

“Chaos and Order are decided by everyone.”

Lynch was taken aback.

Somda asked, “Now, can you still guarantee that the White Wizards will definitely emerge victorious?”

Lynch fell silent for a moment.

Somda continued, “Every Blood Moon War sees countless apprentices switch sides. Apprentices who admire Chaos emerge during the Order Era, and apprentices who yearn for Order appear in the Chaotic Era.”

“No matter how Wizards educate or preach, whether an apprentice leans toward Order or Chaos can only be revealed when they enter the Blood Moon.”

He turned to Lynch and said, “Including you. Think carefully—are you absolutely certain you’ll choose Order when the time comes?”

Lynch thought for a moment.

Given his current perspective, he would undoubtedly choose Order.

“They’re cultivated for a finite number of years before being discarded, sent to Plantations or Magic Manors to grow materials, raise Demons, or copy scrolls—forever toiling for survival until their time runs out.”

“It’s called being a Wizard Apprentice, but truthfully, they’re just slaves dressed up as something more dignified.”

He asked, “Do you think slaves truly care all that much about Order?”

“At least in the Chaotic Era, there were fewer constraints. Everything was decided by strength—if you didn’t like someone, you eliminated them. If you saw a beautiful woman, you claimed her by force. If you wanted a place to live or resources, you fought for them!”

“Sure, many people died. But everyone carried a blind belief that they’d be among the lucky ones.”

“So now, do you still believe Order is inherently superior to Chaos?”

Lynch hesitated, “This… I can’t say.”

As Somda stated, Lynch currently profited from the rules. For him, siding with Order made complete sense.

But apprentices like Subaru and Carl—most of them led far grimmer lives.

No resources, no cultivation, and endlessly running around just to earn a few Magic Stones.

Living only to wait for death, entirely devoid of hope.

He asked, “Does every apprentice have to participate in the war?”

“Take your little girlfriend, for example.”

Somda nodded, “The Blood Moon Land contains a unique resource that is immensely beneficial for apprentices—even offering advantages at the Wizard Level later on. This resource cannot be found elsewhere.”

“In a way, the Blood Moon War revolves around this resource.”

Lynch was skeptical: could it be that magical?

Somda said, “I’d recommend you try to fight for it. For you, it offers nothing but advantages.”

Lynch frowned, “This isn’t child’s play.”

“People die out there!”

“Hahaha!” Somda burst into a hearty laugh, “You sure are honest—no pretense or hypocrisy at all.”

After a pause, he continued, “Don’t worry. Now that you’re my apprentice, I wouldn’t let you die so easily. If you decide to go, I’ll ensure there’s a safety net for you to retreat unharmed.”

Lynch remained skeptical, “Really?”

After all, he had almost died in this very laboratory just a while back!

Somda, as if possessing Mind Reading Technique, once again saw through Lynch’s doubts.

“Heh heh heh, you little brat!”

He jokingly cursed, then shook his head, “Previously, you were merely an apprentice assigned to me by the Shadow Tower. But now—”

“You are officially my apprentice.”
