Chapter 228: Do You Know Hicks Day?

The next morning. When Jason woke up, it was already noon, and he had a satisfied look on his face as he hadn’t had sex in a long time. With a sudden rush of excitement, Jason looked over at Scarlet and then came to realize that she had gone.

Scarlet, being a vegetarian for so long, indulged herself in the fresh meat. It had been a long time for her as well.

"Did she leave? Every woman who had sex with Jason before had begged him for his number afterward, yet the woman from last night left without telling him?"

He felt uncomfortable. Jason’s eyes were filled with disappointment, and then he looked over and saw the cash on the bed stand. His eyes instantly became cold. There were even coins placed on top of the money! He was so mad at the thoughts of that woman, thinking he was a male prostitute.

"She even emptied her wallet completely?" Jason thought to himself. He lifted the money and let out a surprised gasp. There were four words written on a piece of paper that was underneath the cash, and it said money for last night.

"So, did I please her sexual desires?" Jason’s icy expression suddenly changed as he curled his lips into a sneer.

"Scarlet Yvette..." He had to find her.

Now back at The Star Entertainment. Danny raised his head when he saw Eddie come in and then returned to the document in front of him, "The audition results for Dion has come in."

Eddie asked excitedly, "Who is it?"

Eddie was pretty confident with her performance at the audition that she had gotten the part, but she didn’t know what the judges thought.

"Do you know Hicks Day?"

Eddie was a little startled, she didn’t know why Danny mentioned her all of a sudden, she nodded, "I met her at the audition. Why? What happened?"

The expression on Danny’s face was confused, "I have never heard of her, she is an infamous actress, but Dion picked her to be their celebrity endorsement."

Eddie was shocked after hearing this news. She had only seen Hick’s once. The impression Eddie got from her was that Hick’s seemed to be a shy and gentlewoman. She never expected that Hick’s would get such a big endorsement. Must ’ve had some hidden resources?

"Um...she’s pretty. I guess Hicks’ vibe suits the fragrance too. Maybe they thought she was indeed talented?"

Glancing at Eddie scornfully, Danny said, "I’m not trying to be full of myself, but I searched her name on the internet. She’s just an ordinary woman, and even you’re prettier than her. Hick’s is also not well known. It’s strange that Dion chose her as their endorsement celebrity. I’m too familiar with showbiz, and there’s definitely something fishy going on."

Eddie smiled, "This was the first time you said I was pretty. I thought you always saw me as unattractive."

"Don’t be too proud of yourself, and beauty is irrelative. If I compare you to Hick’s then you are pretty."

"I never expected to get the endorsement in the first place, and the audition was only a chance for me to enhance my experience. If it weren’t Hicks who got it, it would have been someone else. As long as it’s not me, it’s none of my business."

Even though Danny had always taunted Eddie, he was still worried that she would be upset with the results. Knowing she wasn’t unhappy, put his mind at ease.

"It doesn’t matter, I know I will have lots of opportunities in the future."

"It’s strange her getting the endorsement of Dion is such a big opportunity in showbiz, and yet there are no rumors?"

Although Danny didn’t express his opinion frankly, Eddie knew he was hinting that Hick’s backing handled the rumors. According to Eddie’s previous experiences, a small celebrity getting such a big endorsement would definitely start a big scandal. But this time, there was no word, and nothing happened.

With a look of disapproval on her face, Eddie said, "So really what it comes down to is a female actress can only sleep their way to the top?"

"I have a feeling this is definitely not as simple as it seems. This is no ordinary endorsement, and it will be a big leap for Hicks’ career."

Eddie thought about Hick’s and how she had such a timid personality. Eddie didn’t believe Hick’s has what it takes to make it in the entertainment world. This time, Eddie felt Danny was definitely wrong. She had no intention of arguing with Danny as it would not be a winning battle.

So with a smile on her face, she said, "Anyways, she already has the part. Since Hick’s is not in our company, it’s none of our business. We don’t need to bother ourselves, even thinking about it."

Danny agreed with Eddie, so they switched the topic and moved on to the script.

It was still early when Eddie came out of Danny’s office. She wanted to buy something from the Times Mall, so she drove towards the direction of the mall. The traffic was horrible, and Eddie was stuck in the middle of it.

While waiting, she took out her phone and went on Twitter. When she opened it up to her surprise, she discovered that Hicks was trending number one. Eddie tapped her phone and read through the comments.

She was a little surprised to find out that all the comments were positive. Once a person becomes famous, their background could easily be exposed. Eddie figured that since everyone had access to the news, the media would be all over it.

Hick’s was an orphan adopted by a low-income family. She fought for her career alone in Australia and always acted in only small roles. All of the news was about her injury from filming, which made her seem devoted to working. The netizens all felt sorry for her.

With a clean background and little controversy since Hick’s entered showbiz, there was basically no gossip being spread about her. Hick’s was also natural beauty. She had never had plastic surgery done to her face, which made her have a delicate appearance, and this was more scarce and valuable in the audience’s eyes.

At first, the comments were doubting Dion in choosing such an infamous actress. But after reading the posts about Hicks, they almost seemed to turn into her fans. Since Eddie was from the entertainment world and when she saw all the posts about Hick’s, she knew that someone was behind it all.

However, it was understandable. Since Hick’s was the endorsement celebrity of such an outstanding product, of course, Dion had to conduct propaganda for her. If Hick’s really had hidden secrets from her past and if Dion wanted to promote her, it would be no use. Eddie casually smiled and exited out of Twitter without taking this matter too seriously.
